Who Requires an Australian Student Visa?

Everyone wishing to study in Australia from abroad (apart from New Zealand) needs a student visa. The type you require depends on the length of study you wish to commit to. If you’re studying abroad for more than six months, you’ll need the subclass 500 Student Visa. If you’re looking at studying for a shorter period, you’re fine to apply for either a Working Holiday Visa or a Visitor Visa. Just be sure to apply in plenty of time to have your visa approved.

What Documentation Do You Need?

Before you apply for your student visa, you’ll need the following:

  • Filled out Australian student visa subclass 500 application

  • Proof you have sufficient funds to support yourself
  • Four passport photos

You’ll also need to pay your visa application fees.

How Long Will it Take to Process the Application?
